Work Fit for People is a website with information for workers about their rights and about the benefits of trade union membership.
The site is part of the comprehensive efforts Saveza samostalnih sindikata Hrvatske to improve the position and rights of workers in Croatia.
The Work Fit for People website was created within the framework of the ‘Together We Are Stronger’ project, co-financed by the European Union from the European Social Fund.
From July 2020 to July 2022, the maintenance of the site took place within the framework of the ‘Work Fit for People’ project, co-financed by the European Union from the European Social Fund. The English language version of the site was created as part of the ‘Trade Unions for a Fair Recovery’ project, co-financed by the European Union from the European Programme for Employment and Social Innovation ‘EaSI’ (2014-2020)..

Work Fit for People
Get to know the integrated concept of the UATUC’s Work Fit for People ambition, which consists of the six dimensions that make up a quality job: good wages; protection of health; learning and career progression; security; a voice in the workplace; and working hours.
Workers have the right to Work Fit for People, but it will not be achieved of its own accord. Work Fit for People needs to be fought for, together.

Together we are stronger
As individuals, you cannot influence your employer very much, but workers together, organised in a trade union, have much more power. Tko smo?
The UATUC is the strongest trade union organisation in Croatia, gathering about 100 thousand workers organised in more than 20 trade unions across the private and public sectors.
We deal with issues which are the shared interest of all our members and we offer support to trade union organising efforts and the work of our affiliated trade unions as well as their local unions established at company level. In our work and in the way we are financed we are completely independent of employers, the state and political parties. The UATUC is affiliated to the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) and the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC).
Trade unions, join us!
Trade unions affiliate to confederations in order to be stronger in the fight for common interests.
Membership of a confederation enables trade unions to provide their members with support and services that they cannot offer on their own. It is easier to organise the provision of legal assistance, trade union education, information and various benefits for members on a joint basis. During strikes, protests and other actions, trade unions within a confederation actively help each other.
Being part of a confederation also means engaging in joint struggle when it comes to issues relevant to members of all trade unions and workers in general. No union on its own can prevent changes to the Labour Act or block the increase in the retirement age to 67 years.
On many occasions, however, we have proven that, together, affiliated to confederations, we can succeed.
